Sarah Pinto is a singer-songwriter, poet, essayist, and visual artist. Her work is introspective and personal while also speaking to the times in which we live, drawing inspiration from trailblazing creative women such as Joni Mitchell, Audre Lorde, and Frida Kahlo. She is interested in the dark corners where healing is found and the transitions that bring us closer to our purpose. You can listen to her songs wherever you stream music. Her latest single, Bearing Witness, is a haunting reflection on the cost of war and the importance of confronting suffering and injustice with an open heart. This year, she launched a newsletter called Cobblestones where she publishes monthly essays in a format that incorporates music, visual art, and poetry (https://sarahpinto.substack.com).

I am 25 years old, but I haven't felt that young in a while. They say that sin ages the soul, and I say that proximity to evil can do the same. I have found myself amongst the best and the worst that humanity has to offer, and through it all, picked up a thing or two about life and happiness. My poems are not essays or stories. They are invitations from my heart and spirit. For now, you can only find them in the 2023 edition of Montgomery College's own literary magazine: The Red Jacket but I hope this journey continues to present the right spaces to publish more of my invitations.
